The AIRcable SerialWifi is standard configured for 115200 baud and a hardware handshake disabled. It should be used in 3 wire serial connection applications. The RTS pin is used for RESET and may need to be disabled for some applications. The firmware update tools use that to reset the processor automatically. Please note that NodeMCU firmware is usually configured for 9600 baud.
Every AIRcable SerialWifi is shipped with a free null-modem adapter that is used to convert the male serial plug to a female serial plug and a USB-power plug cable. It is the only null-modem adapter that wires pin 9 for power.
Fully Programmable and Configureable
The AIRcable SerialWifi is standard configured for 115200 baud and a hardware handshake disabled. It should be used in 3 wire serial connection applications. The RTS pin is used for RESET and may need to be disabled for some applications. The firmware update tools (esptool) use that to reset the processor automatically. Please note that NodeMCU firmware with LUA interpreter and file system is usually configured for 9600 baud.
Every AIRcable Serial5 module is now shipped with a free null-modem adapter that is used to convert the male serial plug to a female serial plug and a USB-power plug cable. It is the only null-modem adapter that wires pin 9 for power.
Powering the AIRcable SerialWiFi
The AIRcable module requires external power (min 5V, max 15V) through the DC jack but can also be powered through pin 9 of the DB9 connector (DC 5-15V). See power plug information. WiFi requires quite a bit more power than our Bluetooth modules, and your 5V should be able to provide up to 250mA.
The AIRcable Serial5 comes with a USB cable. Use a standard USB power adapter for AIRcable Serial devices, such as this one. Order it if you need an external power supply and cannot provide power to the AIRcable Serial modules through pin 9 of the DB9 connector.
